  • Overview

    The Quality Director facilitates organizational performance improvement by:

    • Coordinating the organizational PI plan.
    • Coordinating measurement of performance through data collection.
    • Coordinating assessment of performance by evaluating those measures.
    • Coordinating performance improvement activities throughout the organization.
    • Coordinating documentation of PI plan implementation.
    • Coordinating preparations and communication for regulatory reviews.


    Accountable for timely completion of paperwork and assignments (i.e.: employee evaluations, employee orientation, achieve departmental operating budget target, achieve productivity performance standards, employee attendance at mandatory in-services (such as annual re-orientation), QI data, staff competencies, etc.) for assigned scope of service.  Ensure that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained.  Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system and any need for improvement, and ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.


    • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate population in his/her assigned area
    • Maintains required core competencies.
    • Complies with set Policies and Procedures (i.e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking, etc.)           
    • Demonstrates understanding of regulatory requirements related to performance improvement.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement models and knowledge of data analytical tools.
    • Coordinates organizational development of an integrated organizational PI Plan.
    • Supports departmental managers to translate the PI Plan to departmental PI activities.
    • Supervises organizational data collection for quality monitoring.
    • Systematically aggregates and analyzes collected data collaboratively throughout the organization.
    • Trends analyzed data.
    • Facilitates performance improvement activities as indicated by identified trends.
    • Maintains a process for identifying and managing and reducing the risk of sentinel events.
    • Identifies an ongoing, proactive program for identifying and reducing unanticipated adverse events and safety risks to patients.


    • Three years clinical experience – RN, BSN preferred
    • Strong communication and presentation skills – oral and written
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • PI experience preferred
    • Computer skill
    • Performs related responsibilities as assigned.
