Plan, implement and evaluate a variety of structured therapeutic and rehabilitative activities to focus upon the development and maintenance of adaptive skills that will improve the psychiatric patient’s functioning. Activity therapies provide a program of individual, group, and instructional programming for patients. Program components may include:
Assessment of motor skills, cognitive functioning, leisure history, and interpersonal functioning to determine appropriate types of activities. Treatment recommendations are coordinated within the framework of the interdisciplinary team.
Rehabilitative or educational groups which are goal directed and reinforce the patient’s strengths and/or assist in remediation of problems.
Facilitation of patient planned therapeutic activities to provide a normalizing treatment experience.

High School diploma or equivalent. Current American Heart – HeartSaver or Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
Certification: Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
